G. Harold Duffey - Advancing Local Government Operations

Based in Sacramento, California, G. Harold Duffey is an experienced municipal executive with a long career in local government leadership across California. He currently serves as city manager for the City of Brentwood. Before embarking on his career in public administration, G. Harold Duffey completed a BA in political science and government from the University of Redlands. He later earned an MBA in public administration from California State University, San Bernardino.

At the City of Brentwood, G. Harold Duffey acts as the CEO responsible for municipal operations and ensuring the efficient delivery of services to residents and the business community. He works with city departments to strengthen coordination and improve service delivery.

Before joining Brentwood, Harold Duffey was the public works director and then assistant city administrator for the City of Oakland. His work included developing comprehensive capital improvement strategies covering roads, bridges, underground infrastructure, fire stations, police facilities, and other public assets. He further oversaw the implementation of public works projects and ensured compliance with policy directives from the City Council.

Mr. Duffey previously spent more than six years as city manager for the City of Grand Terrace, where he supported economic development initiatives and helped guide the city through a period of growth. He also served as city manager for the City of Compton, where he oversaw daily operations and rescued the city from fiscal insolvency. He is a member of the International City Managers Association.
